Open Question: I need a Microsoft Excel expert, a person that knows about formulas?

I have this assignment I can't figure out. I have tried and tried. I have to enter a formula based in Excel. This is what I have to enter (Gross Pay minus (dependents multiplied by 38.46)) multiplied by 20%
Gross pay is $100.00 in Cell E3 dependents=4 is in Cell D3
I used this formula =20%*E3-38.46*D3
For some reason my answer does not look right. I know it has to start from right to left, starting with multiplication 1st. Can someone help me?
